Hurricane Ike

Aerial Photos: This NOAA site provides aerial photos of the Gulf Coast areas damaged by Hurricane Ike. The links below are to some photos that affect areas of Galveston.

We have been through storms before. We will rebuild – Together.

To all of our clients and friends:

Our family, employees and CPA firm are OK, though we are all part of the great diaspora of Galvestonians scattered to the wind after Hurricane Ike.  While we will not be operating in our Moody National Bank location offices until electricity and basic services are replaced, rest assured that your financial and business records are safe and secure in our 6th floor office location and that we will return and will do our part to help you put your life back together again.

Our Grandparents and Great Grandparents survived and rebuilt after the 1900 storm and we will too after Hurricane Ike.

In the mean time, while we are in the process of setting up temporary offices, we can be contacted at the following numbers:
Edward Walsh Jr. and Rose Marie – (409) 771-2132 Eddie Walsh III – (409) 771-5929 Kevin Walsh – (409) 789-3102

Or we can be reached by email at eddie@walshcpa.com

For those businesses and individuals who have tax filing deadlines that are either fast approaching or have passed, the IRS has temporarily extended the September 15th filing deadline until September 22nd*.  We fully expect that these deadlines will be further extended into 2009 and penalties waived by the IRS for all affected by the storm.

For those many individuals and businesses with property damage, rest assured that we will be available to help you maximize your casualty loss deduction that you incur due to clean up, property damage and repair expenses.  You have many options on how to deduct this loss and we will help you maximize that tax refund that is available.

In addition, we are available to help you document your insurance claim for damages incurred due to the storm. ~ Letter dated September 17, 2008

* The 2007 IRS filing deadline ultimately was extended to January 5, 2009.
