About Us
Edward J. Walsh was granted Certificate Number 376 by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy on January 9, 1932, and soon launched Edward J. Walsh & Associates in his family's hometown of Galveston, Texas.
His son, Edward J. Walsh, Jr. (Ed), became a C.P.A. on January 17, 1960, Certificate Number 5055, after graduating from the University of Texas. He soon joined his father’s growing practice and over the years built it to meet the needs of many individuals and businesses by listening to and working for the benefit of thousands of clients. Many of his clients became close, long-lasting friends.
Edward was joined by his wife, Rose Marie, where they worked hand in hand every day for 35 years. In 1982, their son, Eddie, joined the practice, and in 1989, their second son, Kevin, followed. Ed and Rose Marie instilled in their sons the dedication and commitment needed to provide you with respectable and valued accounting services that you demand.
The legacy created, built and nurtured by Edward, Ed and Rose Marie continues in the third generation. Edward (Eddie) J. Walsh III, CPA, CFE
Partner
Eddie graduated from the University of Texas in 1982 and immediately joined his father as an associate. He earned his CPA designation in 1985, becoming the first third-generation CPA in the state of Texas. An active Rotarian since 1983, Eddie also has served the Galveston community on numerous non-profit and charity boards and on the governing entities of the Galveston Park Board and the Port of Galveston Wharves Board.
Kevin C. Walsh, CPA
Partner
Kevin obtained his Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Houston Clear Lake in 1989 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1995. He served as Galveston County Treasurer for twenty years, from 2003 to 2023.
Joseph Hugger
Accountant
Joseph earned his Master's of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2023 and immediately joined the family firm. He currently is studying for the CPA exam.
Julie Cunningham
Accountant
Located outside Austin, Julie works remotely to assist Eddie and Kevin with tax and financial calculation, reconciliation and reporting.
Veronica Hugger
Special Account Services
Veronica, who married Eddie in 2008, joined Edward J. Walsh & Associates in 2010 to grow a sub-specialty of the firm: services to homeowners associations. Veronica manages the accounts receivable and accounts payable for local HOA clients.
Erica Gartee
Accounting Assistant
Chances are you'll hear Erica's friendly voice when you phone the office, or she'll call you when your tax return is ready. She also is working to keep the office running smoothly while learning what she can about the business of accounting.
